Why Regular Home Lift Maintenance and Servicing Matters

Your home lift plays an important role in everyday independence. Regular home lift maintenance and servicing helps to ensure it continues to work as it should, year after year.

Regular maintenance and servicing can help to:

  • Preventative maintenance could protect you from unexpected breakdowns

  • Optimise your lift safety and keep your lift operating safely and smoothly

  • Extend the lifespan of key mechanical components

  • Identify minor issues before they become costly repairs

As a general guide, depending on the type of lift, they should be serviced at least once a year. For hydraulic models such as Wessex lifts, we usually recommend twice-yearly servicing to allow for additional checks, including hydraulic oil inspection.

Whilst there is no legal requirement to have a lift serviced in a domestic home, the importance of lift servicing cannot be stressed enough. Your lift should be safety checked regularly and maintained for safety and it could prevent future lift breakdowns when you least expect them at the most inconvenient time.
