Stiltz & Wessex Through Floor Lift Removal by Local Specialists

If your home lift is no longer needed, 1st Choice Homelifts offers a professional homelift removal and buyback service for Stiltz and Wessex lifts across the South West.

Whether you’re moving home or simply no longer need the lift, we’ll remove it safely, cleanly, and with minimal disruption, whatever type of lift you have from the Stiltz or Wessex range. In some cases, we may even be able to buy the lift back, depending on its model, age, and condition.

Professional Home Lift Removal Services

Removing a home lift isn’t a general building job; it really requires specialist knowledge to ensure it’s done in a safe method, correctly and without damage to your home.

Our manufacturer-trained engineers are experienced in removing both Stiltz and Wessex homelifts, handling everything from electrical disconnection to careful dismantling of the equipment, enabling removal and disposal of your lift.

Our homelift removal service includes:

  • Safe electrical isolation and disconnection

  • Careful dismantling and removal of the lift

  • Protection of surrounding floors, walls, and furniture

  • Responsible disposal or recycling of lift components

  • put a temporary board over the hole in the ceiling to secure the void (It will then be the customer's responsibility to organise building work to the property to seal the hole in the ceiling.

In line with UK legislation, we hold a Waste Carrier Licence and are registered to remove and transport lifts. Wherever possible, we dismantle lifts into component parts for responsible recycling.

Homelift Buybacks – We May Buy Your Lift

If your lift is in good condition, relatively new, and is a suitable model, we may be able to offer a homelift buyback, saving you removal costs and hassle. We may be able to refurbish and resell your lift for a new lift installation. If we can reuse the lifting equipment, we may offer a buyback.

Each lift is assessed individually based on:

  • Brand (Stiltz or Wessex)

  • Model and age

  • Condition and service history of the lift before removal

If your lift qualifies, we’ll make a fair offer and arrange full removal and collection at no extra cost. Please bear in mind that buyback prices will not be anywhere near what you bought the lift for, as it is now used, and there are building work prices to consider too. Often, it may be a few hundred or a couple of thousand pounds that you may expect to receive.

Complete Homelift Removal & Floor Restoration

Once a lift is removed, you’re usually left with a floor opening between levels.

We can also arrange optional floor restoration for some geographical areas, using trusted subcontractors to close the aperture and return your floor to a safe, finished condition. This may include timber work, flooring reinstatement, and final cosmetic finishing.

Please note: floor restoration is quoted separately and won't be included in any quotes we give you unless you ask us for this specifically. Just let us know if you’d like this included when you get in touch.

Typical process:

  1. On-site assessment

  2. Lift disconnection and removal

  3. Optional floor aperture restoration

  4. Full clean-up and debris removal

Most removals are completed in around half a day, with restoration work taking longer if required.

FAQs – Homelift Removals & Buybacks

We specialise in Stiltz and Wessex homelifts. These are the Stiltz Duo, Stiltz Trio, Wessex VM, VE, and Elesse. We do not buyback other models like the Stannah Uplift, Terrys or Pollock lifts as our engineers are not trained on those products.

Buybacks depend on the lift’s age, condition, and model. We’ll always give you an honest answer.

Most removals are completed in around half a day, usually by two engineers.

We can arrange optional floor restoration at an additional cost. Just ask for a quote when you get in touch.

No. We can remove lifts, whether we installed them originally or not.
